When does Exceptionalism become Illusion of Grandeur?

Just watched a program on the white supremacy culture and I could not help but wonder if the concept of American (white) Exceptionalism (when carried to it’s extreme) could be a contributor to these heinous acts of violence.

I would imagine the concept of exceptionalism could contribute to somebody carrying out acts of violence, but I don’t think the Sikh temple shooting had anything to do with that.

If I play armchair behaviorist , the assailant Wade Page, seems to have been a bottom feeder just looking for attention; that’s judging from the media reports about him, which are probably skewered as hell.

The more I learn about this nut and his environment the scarier it gets. And he is not alone!!!
