Many types of social psychology experiments in the mid-last century were banned due to ethical considerations.  But reality shows, today, are far more demeaning.  And far less worthwhile, as the only controls have to do with what may get the highest ratings.

I don’t like them.

As a fabrication of our own consciousness, our assignations of meaning are no less “real”, but since humans and the fabrications of our consciousness are routinely fraught with error, it makes sense, to me, to, sometimes, question such fabrications.

I agree.  I never watch any of them, and I’ll be very happy if the fad dies.

We could bring back gladiatorial games? Wait, we already have, we just call it hockey.  grin

Hmm… ‘Reality’ shows are basically just the soap operas of the 21st century. Although I can’t see them die off fast enough!

Take care,

Derek
