An interesting question: Are other animals than apes etc. able to fill their mouths with air and blow that air out of their mouth, or to suck in liquid from a higher level?

The most animals i have watched drinking, like cats, dogs, cattle etc. dont seem to be able to do so, cats and dogs are using their tongue to lift liquid into their mouth.

Am I right, or do they just do it that way?

I seem to recall tv and movie scenes of various primated drinking from a glass or bottle.  If you watch The Big Bang Theory, there was an episode where a primate was being taught to smoke and had a habit of blowing a puff of smoke in the face of anyone who came near.

On a mildly related topic, many years ago at the Washington D.C. zoo, some workmen had to make some changes in one of the very large cages that housed some monkeys.  The workers would throw things and yell at the monkeys when they got curious.  So the monkeys gathered on some branches at the top of the cage, about 30 feet high then all let blast a torrent of urine over all the workmen.
