I would like to suggest an interview with Prof. Norman Finkelstein who was recently denied tenure at DePaul because he opted to speak the truth.

DJ’s background would interest me greatly. A get to know your host’s deepest and darkest thoughts hour would go down nicely.

Apart from people such as Daniel Dennett, Steven Pinker, and Richard Dawkins that I always want to hear more of, I would love to see Noam Chomsky, Chris Hedges, and Bart Ehrman invited to Point of Inquiry.

Michael Behe.  Being interviewed by a person of average intelligence or above.  Just because I’d like to watch him struggle.  And that guy whose name escapes me - the raving nutbag whom Dr Forrest keeps mentioning on the podcast - the weasly dispicable guy. It would be superb to have him interviewed wired up to a lie detector.

Why not a skeptical review of the diet and health sciences? Two purportedly excellent books taking a skeptical look at this out now.

1. Rethinking Thin

I would love to see some discussion of buddhism. Perhaps a debate between Hitchens and Sam Harris could be aranged.

Paul Kurtz is a wonderful speaker, I would love to hear more of him.

Well, here’s my two cents on that topic.  It is a dangerous religion and should be monitored carefully.

Everyone in it is trying to come back as the enlightened one.  If you live well and treat everyone nicely, you come back as something good, if not, you either come back as something mediocre or something bad.  Here’s the problem: since they went extinct, nobody has come back as a dodo.  Now, if you really wanted to come back as an enlightened one, you’d figure that all you have to do is kill off everything else.  That includes all species including humans.  That way the only thing you can come back as is an enlightened one.  Ergo, they are a crazy and potentially pangenocidal cult. Do not let them into your home.

Maybe philosopher Mario Bunge could be a good one.

I reminded him as I wrote on the thread about mind-brain and I reached a ‘emergentism materialis’ concept (sorry, I don’t know how to translate it ‘materialismo emergentista’).

I enjoyed the conversations between Hittman & Barry very much - how about an online podcast between them both.

A discussion with James Valient would be my pick.

I’d like to hear more from what might be considered CFI’s cultural adversaries (e.g., thoughtful Catholic intellectuals, Islamist apologists, postmodernist theorists).

PoI is also lacking people from technology, industry, and business who are influential in the world of ideas (e.g., Steve Jobs, George Soros).

Before I could get around to mentioning the authors of “Mistakes Were Made (but not by me)” POI beats me to it! I’m, currently reading the book and enjoying it very much.

How about a PoI debate?

Richard Dawkings Vs The Pope.

Sam Harris Vs The Archbishop of Canterbury.

Tom Cruise Vs John Sweeney.
