Paul’s gospel must be accepted, it must be believed today, and you can be sure that confusion concerning that gospel through the use of a counterfeit gospel; a gospel that looks so much like Paul’s gospel that you’d not know the difference, if you didn’t clearly know Paul’s gospel, will be Satan’s focus in this age of grace.

One of Satan’s purpose in this age of grace is to confuse Paul’s gospel with a gospel so nearly to it, and there are many people out there today saying all you have to do is to believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and you’re saved. They believe this in almost every church across the board that Christ died, was buried and rose again, but what do they believe was accomplished by that death, burial and resurrection?

In their minds, they were separating themselves for God by their sin, and Paul is saying that God has already reconciled you where your sins are concerned. God is reconciled where the sins of the world are concerned, because he imputed those sins to Christ, that all who would believe what he imputed to Christ, that that resolved the sin issue forever, and are now joined to his son and have his righteousness freely counted to them, or imputed to their account.

Paul called it the ministry of reconciliation, Christ fulfilled the law for us, so we are identified with the righteousness of Christ the moment we take God at his word, obedient to the faith, concerning what Christ accomplished on our behalf. Today our service comes not out of apprehension to any of those things; our service today comes based solely on our appreciation for what Christ has already done.

He’s trolling again.  hmmm . No point in responding because you only want to preach and not discuss. Of course you ignore the fact that most of us were born into christian families and have heard all of this nonsense before…..

I really have come to the conclusion that religious inculcation is an effective way of causing mental illness.

One more troll post on the way to banning.

Don’t threaten, just do it. It only takes one post like this to see what this person is up to. You’ve seen 26 of them.

I don’t have the authority to ban anyone.  Only Doug can do that, and he’s far, far more patient than I am.

Satan was an excellent hockey player when he was here in Buffalo a few years ago..  I don’t see how he could have anything to do with knocking a man off his jackass a couple thousand of years ago.

Ok Gary, but that’s the Czecho Satan. The most he could do to jebus would be to high stick him and slam him into the boards. And everybody knows jebus was a winger and too Wiley for that play.

Ok Gary, but that’s the Czecho Satan.

Oops, my bad! And yes it does make a difference George. I saw Czechslovakia by his name and assumed, oh well. If it didn’t make a difference to you guys you wouldn’t have split! Right? I actually got to see him play when he was with the Pens. Our son-in-law gets us tickets every year. They couldn’t keep his jersey on the shelf that year!

BTW, “Satan” is Czech, the same as in English. In Slovak it is “Šatan,” which is the hockey player’s proper name. (It’s pronounced “schatan,” just in case you really care about the Slovak language.  grin )

I knew it wasn’t pronounced SATan, and the announcer pronounced it saTAN in an attempt to throw off the similarity to the dark lord! Somebody should have spelled it phonetically for him. Is the exact pronunciation on the first or second syllable? And as to the Slovak language, I’ve heard Russian and Bulgarian but Czech or Slovak.

We really are great at hijacking threads, aren’t we, Jack?  cheese

The hockey player’s name is pronounced neither SATan nor saTAN. If anything, it would be SCHATan. And Slovak actually sounds more like Russian, Bulgarian, Polish or any other one of the Slavic languages.

Czech is different from all of them. I guess the reason for that being is that the Czechs were a part of the Austrian Empire for three hundred years and it took a few people great effort to bring the language back to life when we got our independence from the Austrians. By then it was only a few villages that kept the language alive. Even till this day half of the population has a German last name (and blood). We don’t really mingle much with the rest of the Slavs as they don’t like us, and neither we mingle with the Germans (Austrians) as we don’t like them. It’s kind of like being a mulatto: you don’t fit anywhere.

Certainly some issues here:
1. of Pauls letters; the majority (7) are pseudonymous
2. Sin is a theist concept “originating” in genesis; remove it from this paragraph
3. Remove god from this paragraph
4. Remove satan from the paragraph
5. Remove christ from this paragraph
6. Jesus - if he existed at all - was an illiterate jewish preacher and nothing else; remove him from the paragraph.

Now….what’s left? Not much, not much at all.
