Actually, support for same sex marriage is pretty even among all ethnic groups in the US.

I think I would be careful here. Read the caveat:

“The poll also finds that 59 percent of African Americans say they support same-sex marriage, up from an average of 41 percent in polls leading up to Obama‚Äôs announcement of his new position on the matter. Though statistically significant, it is a tentative result because of the relatively small sample of black voters in the poll.

As usual, N is very important.

Indeed.  And a good catch, sir.  I missed that little nugget.

Maybe I should add that what I said above is based on studies done predominately on WEIRD people. The reason why blacks and hispanics turn mostly liberal is probably about something else.

Not sure how you can make that observation.
Even in the states, black and hispanic views on ‘liberal’ values like gay marriage is extremely conservative.
Look at prop 8 in California for example.
Look at non-US populations, in which non-white populations are extremely conservative.

The reason minorities in the states largely vote democrat is purely a function of Democratic platforms that address their specific situation,
beginning with the civil rights movements of the 1960s.

question

I think you’re agreeing with me here that since blacks and hispanics don’t seem to be too high in openness, the reason why they vote democrats must be due to something else.

Yes culture.

Political pandering.

What is, a book that claims physiological differences in the brains of republicans, or avoiding making that conclusion when race in involved?

Out of curiosity rbarios, is English not your first language?

I mean that democrats pander to the black and hispanic communities - that’s why they vote democrat; not because they care much about liberal values.

Does this mean there are only two types of brains?

psik

No.  There is one type of brain, its just that one exists and the other one doesn’t. I leave it to everyone to decide which is which.

It is my first language. How about yourself?

I agree. Thanks for clarifying. It wasn’t clear which portion of the nested comments you were referring to.
