Hello Pals,

Just dropping in to let you know I’m still alive and kicking, actually doing quite well these days…
as for the global warming dialogue, piss’n ‘em off better than ever   ;- )
{it’s a dirty job but someone has to do it}

I do think about you folks, and I’ll be back yet, but life is real crowded.
~ ~ ~

Back to the moment - I was looking for a relaxing break before going to bed and stumbled on this YouTube video that had me in stitches, twice through, and I’m trying to keep it quite ‘cause my gals sleeping one door over.  Sozee, I figure rather than wake her up to share this, I’ll visit over here.  wink

Now I been a fan of Cuddle Fish for a long time, so I’ve hear their story from many angles,
but this one . . .
is special . . .  out standing in it’s field.

Good enough that it worth sharing over here

I was just listening to an excellent program on a local public radio station discussing how Miami is on the way down underwater, as are New Orleans and much of Manhattan, and I thought of you.  Glad you’re having a full, busy and enjoyable life with your gal.

Hello CC, glad to hear all is well.

If ever there was an example of evolution (aside from humans), the adaptation of the cuttlefish (one of the most vulnerable species) to its environment is truly astounding.

I have posted these links before but it is also an excellent edition to the library of natural wonders of evolution.

And then the proposition that intelligence does not necessarily depend on a single large brain but may be composed of thousands of simple parts, such as brainless neurons in our brains or the hive brain of bees, or the single cell brainless slime mold, each which seems to have evolved a function decision making structure and process.

One thing that seems important is repetition or a consistency in the observed object making it familiar to the senses. And is this not what the mirror neural network is all about?

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Write4U, thanks for those links, I’ll have to check out that NOVA show some evening real soon - looks great.
Paula’s already cueing up “What Are Animals Thinking?” but I’ve gotta run off to a job.
