I am looking for an article that was published in Free Inquiry a few years ago.
The author (was it Edd Doerr?), was responding to a study that found religious people were happier than atheists.  What was really happening; if one compares the most fervent religious with the continuum of atheists, the convinced and the not convinced atheists, the convinced believers were happier than the total of the atheists.
The author of this study rearranged the data to compare the unquestioning believers with the unquestioning atheists, and found the unquestioning atheists to be the happiest.
I have to give a presentation later this month and could use some of the data from this report.
Can anyone provide me with the Volume and Issue so I can reorder, please?

I know Edd Doerr.  I’ll ask him.

Hmm, “unquestioning atheist” seems a bit of a contradiction in terms.  Anywho, here’s a little something from Bertrand Russell that relates to your topic, and i’m sure comes into play.

“The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.” - Russell

hogarm, Edd Doerr told me he did not write the article and doesn’t know when it might have been published. He suggests that you contact the Free Inquiry editorial staff to see if anyone there can help you find it.
