My name is Michael. My main interest is the consciousness base of religion vs secularism. I wrote a book about it: The Secular Spirit. Web site http://www.thesecularspirit.com. YouTube channel “Michael Ducey”. Looking share an interest in meditation/self-awareness as the basis for culture. See: http://youtu.be/HRhdmkkh4zk  (“The Sanity Project”)

Welcome Michael.  I’m sure you can contribute well to some of our discussions on those topics.  Looking forward to your posts.

Oh, and since I’m quite thoroughly left handed, I guess that means a bit of a shift to the right brain. LOL

Thanks, Occam. There is SO much more to the hemispheres than handedness! check out Jill Bolte Taylor’s TED talk to start?

I know, Michael.  I have read a moderate amount of the research, however, as you may see as you check out the forum posts, I’m an invetereate wise ass and will make a joke whenever I can.  You can usually tell, when I add the laughing smiley.

Are you left or right, Occam? I’m wondering which is more likely to be a wise ass.

Hi Michael! ... Sounds interesting what you’re up to there. Too bad I’m not up north as that is really a conversation I’d like to have….

Anyway, welcome to the forum! ... Hoping to hear more from you.

Peace.

Good question, Lois.  I couldn’t even make that damned test that was supposed to show which side one is work.  I’m left handed (right brain?), far more interested in facts and reason (left brain?).  Most of the highly emotional (right brain?) people I’ve met are severely deficient in sense of humor.  So, who knows?  smile

Try the test again.  See what it says.  It says I’m 91% left brained. It could be seen to explain a lot.
