I hadn’t heard of this until the most recent Skepticality podcast. Right now there are five episodes, each about five minutes long. Really funny.

... also quite high production values.

Mr. Deity

NB, however, from his FAQ page:

I am a formerly religious person (non-bitter), and as such, have great sympathies for the beliefs and feelings of religious people. I love the fact that they are concerned with the big issues like Good and Evil, Existence, Creation, etc… I don’t always agree with the answers they provide to these questions, but I deeply respect their concern. Our goal here is not to mock religion, but to use it as a foundation for the humor. I’m thrilled that so many religious people have written to tell me that they love the episodes. In future episodes, I intend to turn the tables a bit and poke fun at what I call the "angry atheists" (of whom I am not fond). We’ll see if they take it so well.

... so be warned, angry atheists!

(Apparently the guy who plays Mr. Deity is also a designer for Skeptic magazine, and a friend of Michael Shermer. FWIW).

I discovered this while listening to Ep. 16 of HNN (Humanist Network News). These shorts are funny and witty!  I love episode 2, especially the part where Larry tell’s Mr. Deity and Jesus/Jesse: “No, the health plan does not cover crucifixion.” :D

I’ve listened to him and I find him rather interesting.  I have his podcasts on my iPod.  Yes, it’s his. I just looked.  I’m not sure where I got them, except through iTunes.  If you have iTunes you should be able to find his podcasts.  Oh and they are free to subscribe to, also.

This is one of the best and funniest RSS feeds on the Internet. Now There are at least 8 short (perhaps 3 minutes) videos that can be downloaded. Each is funnier than the next, The problem with them is they are too large to send to your religious friends. I recommend this source of biblical commentary to all.

Probably could - I haven’t looked so thanks much for the suggestion. I’m so dang busy that I haven’t thought as much about these things as I should have.

I LOVE Mr. Deity! I have all of his podcasts on on my iPod! I’ve had to settle with rewatching old episodes (they are just as funny the second and third time around), glad he’s got some new ones out…love the one about the stoning of the ‘virgin’!

This podcast deserves a bump to the top of the forum list. Mr. Deity is one of two podcasts I support financially.
