James Winston has been criticized for his English skills and for what his mother and girlfriend tweeted after the game. The real criticism should have been for what he said, not for how he said it. He tearfully thanked god for helping his team win.

Who in his right mind can make a case for a god of any description caring who wins and who loses an insignificant game in an insignificant part of the universe between insignificant people?

Can anyone in his right mind make that case?

Unfortunately, that’s not what the media focuses on. They focus on the important thing, his speech pattern!

I think most basketball fans don’t feel that way.
