I have no problem with genuine cases but the question is what is a genuine case? Just because someone claims to be transgender does not mean it is legitimate. Other avenues of treatment need to be investigated first before any major decisions are made concerning invasive surgery.
The problem is there is so much hysteria surrounding this subject it is often not easy to have a rational conversation.
“Treatment”? What kind of treatment would you suggest? Electroshock? Exorcism?
It is not the transgenders who act hysterically. Their problem is the hysterical response toward a self identified transgender, as if it were a morally evil thing.
If by law a corporation can claim personhood, a person should be able by law to claim genderhood, don’t you think?
It’s up to a trained professional to make a determination about someone’s medical problems, not non-professionals who seek to self-diagnose.
Your approach seems to advocate treatment-on-demand, which is a disastrous idea.
