What a piece of absolute crap Limbaugh is, he spent the week telling his listeners that Irma was a left wing hoax then fled Florida in his private jet because the hurricane is about to hit.

http://people.com/politics/al-roker-reacts-rush-limbaugh-evacuating-hurricane-hoax/

After spending much of this week telling his listeners that Hurricane Irma was fake news, Rush Limbaugh his fled his home base in Palm Beach, Florida, in anticipation of landfall.

On Thursday, Limbaugh announced he would not “be able” to host his nationally syndicated radio show on Friday due to “the security nature of things,” adding that he was heading to “parts unknown.”

It’s the exact same with other climate change deniers, they lie about the reality and risks then take measures to protect themselves thinking of others not at all.

Just to be clear, Irma is a devastating hurricane heading directly for Florida, any sane person would be warning everyone at risk to leave or take effective measures to weather this record strength hurricane.

http://www.cnn.com/2017/09/08/us/hurricane-irma-caribbean-florida/index.html

Hurricane Irma regained Category 5 status late Friday as the core of the storm made landfall in Cuba with maximum sustained winds of 160 mph, the US National Hurricane Center said.

Irma made landfall on the Camaguey archipelago of Cuba, the center said late Friday night.
The massive storm edged closer to US landfall in the Florida Keys after leaving a trail of devastation and death in much of the Caribbean as it advanced toward South Florida.

Forecasters with the National Hurricane Center say the storm’s wind speeds will increase after Irma passes Cuba then slips into the extremely warm waters near the Keys.
“Nowhere in the Florida Keys will be safe,” the National Weather Service tweeted.

This is an indication of how criminally irresponsible all climate change deniers are. Limbaugh made the totally unsubstantiated claims he did because he’s a climate change denier and is paid to lie to people on issues that can mean life and death.

Florida is about to get a real world expression of what catastrophic climate change means and a prime denier of climate change Limbaugh has fled the state abandoning his listeners without even rescinding his earlier lies.

The western US is also being hammered by wildfires.

This idea that climate change doesn’t exist only exists in the minds of liars paid by the fossil fuel industry.

Irma’s storm track has shifted to the west meaning that Tampa not Miami in now in the middle of the storm track.

This has been a truly brutal year for the catastrophic impacts of human created climate change. Wildfire that are still burning intensely across western North America and multiple massive hurricanes tearing up the US, Mexico and the Caribbean.

All this was predicted decades ago, I remember clearly reading about projections of this in 1990.

And this is just the start of a process that will continue to worsen, who cares what the deniers like Limbaugh say when they claim it isn’t happening then take flight to avoid dying.

Rush Limbaugh was claiming Irma would veer to the east and head out into the Atlantic off Florida, instead it changed course to the west and is now on track for Tampa which hasn’t had a major hurricane hit for almost a century.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/hurricane-irma-florida-sunday-1.4283014

Meteorologists predicted Irma would plow into the Tampa Bay area Monday morning. The area has not been struck by a major hurricane since 1921, when its population was about 10,000, National Hurricane Center spokesman Dennis Feltgen said. Now around 3 million people live there.

That’s the problem with catastrophic climate change, it is also chaotic. Deniers who base their claims on doubt use this to their advantage, in this case the effects could be tragic if many listened to Limbaugh and assumed Irma was some kind of left wing conspiracy.

Irma didn’t even need to hit land to be the most powerful Atlantic storm in recorded history, its early wind speeds already established that.

Irma was at one time the most powerful hurricane ever recorded in the open Atlantic with a peak wind speed of 300 km/h last week. It left more than 20 people dead across the Caribbean and as it moved north over the Gulf of Mexico’s bathtub-warm water of nearly 90 degrees, it was expected to regain strength.

Which demonstrates the point you were making in your hurricane thread, hurricanes gain power when over warm surface water and lose strength when over cold water or land.

The warmer the surface temperature of the ocean the more heat there is that can be converted into the circular motion of the hurricane and the faster and more powerful the sustained winds are. The track that Irma is now taking may be the worst possible as it tracks up the west coast of Florida. It will be picking up more and more strength from the very warm Gulf of Mexico water while it creates a strong storm surge along the Florida coast accompanied by powerful winds then hit full force the mainland at Tampa.

There is virtually no doubt that climate change has resulted in warmer ocean temperatures and much warmer in some places like the Gulf of Mexico and the mid-Atlantic where these hurricanes form that can and sometimes will produce monster storms like Irma, which to be clear is the strongest Atlantic storm ever recorded when at one point it had sustained wind speeds of over 300 kph(185 mph).

It’s utter chaos in Florida right now.

http://www.cnn.com/2017/09/10/us/hurricane-irma-florida-impact/index.html

Want to bet that Limbaugh is enjoying a level of comfort and safety that most of the people in Florida he told to stay put can’t even imagine at the moment.

Climate change contrarians are the biggest hypocrites on Earth.

The daughter of a friend lives in Sarasota, like many Floridians they were caught by surprise, they thought Irma was going to track up the east coast of the state and miss them. Irma is so large and powerful the entire state is getting hammered.

She and her husband decided they didn’t want to risk it on the road and have boarded up everything and are going to sit it out. I guess we’ll hear in a few days how they fared.

That’s one of the issues with the kind of chaotic weather we are getting now, it is very difficult to predict outcomes with systems we have never seen before.

The wildfire situation is still insane here with multiple fires of massive extent, one at 1,200,000 acres, one at 590,000 acres another at 475,000 acres and still another at 61,000 acres.

There is nothing “normal” with what is happening here, in Florida, Mexico, Texas, Cuba and many other places. It is time to stop lying about climate change and do something real to lessen the damage which is going to be immense now no matter what we do.

This has become a survival situation for us all, the time for comfort is gone. As horrible as what is going on now is it is just the beginning.

What a year from hell and it’s just going to get worse according to the science.

Much of North America is still on fire, even though some places have got snow here already, there are still over 100 massive wildfires burning in BC alone.

The hurricanes so far this season have been massive and deadly.

Only the brain dead like Rush Limbaugh still think climate change isn’t happening.
