Im a little more than half way through The Amber Spyglass, the third and final book of the series. Anyone else read these books? What were your thoughts; you excited about the movies?

I read the first two and then lost interest. Certainly inventive and well-written, just not exciting or inspiring for me. Probably just a matter of taste. I will probably take my daughter to the movie version since I think she’ll enjoy it, and I feel like the movie might actually be more fun than the books.
