I’m a big Penn & Teller fan.  If anyone ever gets a chance to see them live, I highly recommend you try and do so.  Their stage show is a hundred times more mystifying and entertaining than the silliness they do on the 3-minutes of time they are allotted on most interview shows.

And since they are big-time skeptics, I thought I’d list all of their episodes of all 4 seasons of their Showtime series, Bullshit! out on DVD here.  Have a topic you are interested in and want to see how P&T address it?  Here are the topics so far.

I enjoyed BS tremendously, even though occassionally I think they go too far. When I found myself forced to go to Vegas (the {i]only reason I would go there), I saw their show at the Rio. Fantastic! I don’t generally share their political stance, but as far as skepticism, they make the point better than anyone else I’ve seen!

Did they do their double bullet catch for their closer?

Yup! My favorite, though, was the mentalism display. They ran quite casually and in an almost bored, perfunctory way through cold reading, hot reading, and a variety of mentalism techniques. The tricks themselves were quite impressive to the audience, yet the message of their presentation was not only “these are tricks,’ but “these are trivial tricks,” which served to highlight how silly it is to be fooled into believing them. And they seemed quite genuinely indignant that such nonsense would be used to take advantage of grieving people. A great show, and an important message at the same time.

Yes, I saw them on stage many years ago ... they are fantastic showmen and a gift to the skeptic community.
