I’m always curious about people like that. Did she think she was smart enough to outwit the system with her chicanery, or did she really believe she had the special talent?

I’m almost sure she believes in it. I mean, c’mon… if you gonna make up some special power, wouldn’t be such a lame one.

I would have agreed with you in the past, but I realize that we all operate to the best of our abilities, so what is obviously lame to you because you have much higher abilities than she, might seem highly sophisticated and undetectible to her.
The lady who came on here telling us she was going for the James Randi $1 Million Paranormal Challenge?
She finally went for it. And… FAILED!
Recently I read his book Flim-Flam. It was published in 1982. Back then, he was offering a personal check for $10,000!
The paranormal claims…dowsing, table tipping, etc., just ridiculous. It’s amazing that people think they have special powers; and the scammers scamming gullible people are just pathetic.
Anyway, did the lady offer “rationalizations and convoluted excuses of the most outrageous sort” [says, Randi] when the test failed?
I don’t want to spoil anyone’s breakfast or dinner, but there was an article in my local paper about a teacher who underwent a a cancer operation. In spite of being operated on for 11 hours by “some of the best doctors in the country”, she knew who to thank. “This has made me see who is in charge. This has made me open my Bible.” :(
