I know this has been mentioned elsewhere on the net, but I don’t remember it coming up here. (If it did, correct me and I’ll merge this thread).

For real courage and insight, and an amazing outlook on life and death, check out Randy Pausch’s “Last Lecture”, after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and given months to live.

There are shorter and longer forms of the lecture; I think the original one is over an hour, and there’s one on Oprah that’s about ten minutes long. They’re available through links on his webpage HERE.

PITTSBURGH - Randy Pausch, the Carnegie Mellon University computer scientist whose “last lecture” about facing terminal cancer became an Internet sensation and a best-selling book, died Friday. He was 47.

Pausch died at his home in Chesapeake, Va., said Jeffrey Zaslow, a Wall Street Journal writer who co-wrote Pausch’s book. Pausch and his family had moved there last fall to be closer to his wife’s relatives.

Pausch was diagnosed with incurable pancreatic cancer in September 2006. His popular last lecture at Carnegie Mellon in September 2007 garnered international attention and was viewed by millions on the Internet. ...

I saw that on the news yesterday. What a man - making jokes, having fun, and living life to its fullest until the very end.

My heartfelt thoughts to his widow and children.

I think we all could learn something from Randy on how to live life to its fullest.  RIP Randy
