Just a quick post - just finished a great new book: “Living WIthout God”, by Ronald Aronson.  This is a great next step - past the Dawkins/Hutchins debunking books - to how we understand the universe and society, and our place in it - without the common guidepoints provided by religion.  A vision of a genuine secular, humanistic society.  I think the readers of this forum would very much like this book.  I also like that it’s written on an accessible level - not too obscure.

Howdy, Eric.  Thanks for the recommendation.  I hope to find more books like you describe, because I personally believe (without substantiating evidence) that more folks would be willing to reduce their dependence on religious and other supernatural beliefs if appealing alternatives were available to serve the same psychological, social, and other needs.
