I think he’s a secularist, he’s made encouraging comments in the past. I think Colbert is also a secularist.

No Way….both Stewart and Colbert at least appear to be skeptical of organized religion.

Whether or not they believe in god they are smart intellectual types and probably cohort with some atheists. Once they realized atheists could be good people too it probably changed their opinions ... just what the evil atheists want!

Colbert’s character is a Catholic, but you surely can’t believe that Colbert himself is a Catholic.  Has he self-identified as a Catholic in a bio or something?  If so, I’ve never come across this.  His character is a blatant mockery of the religious right, which is why so many of us love him.

I heard an interview with him on NPR very shortly after he got his own show, and he mentioned that.  By the way, he has six kids.
