I think you are letting your skepticism slip, he is a bunch of atoms for goodness sake.

You wouldn’t describe the bunch of atoms that make up the earthquake as evil scum.

What’s the difference?

Stephen

What is the difference? Are you serious? Earthquakes are not living, breathing, thinking creatures. Earthquakes do not make decisions. Earthquakes do not encourage bigotry then ask for money.

Yes.

So what?

Why on earth is that? Are only people capable of evil? Don’t earthquakes do great evil? What about baboons can they do evil?

Stephen, those are ridiculous arguments. Only a fool would argue earthquakes are capable of intent, evil or otherwise. If you want to compare Pat Robertson with a baboon you may do so with my blessing.

Stephen, those are ridiculous arguments.

They are not arguments they are questions, so they cannot be ridiculous arguments.

Only a fool would argue earthquakes are capable of intent, evil or otherwise. If you want to compare Pat Robertson with a baboon you may do so with my blessing.

Hmm well if there is such a thing as evil then this fool thinks earthquakes can do it, why not? Why am I a fool?

In this particular case intent doesn’t come into it, Pat Robertson has no evil intent as far as we know, he believes something which we disagree with and think is harmful.

Some things are so obvious there is no need to argue them. One of those things is that earthquakes are not rational beings. I am not going to get bogged down in arguing something so obvious. If you want to believe ridiculous things that is your right, but I will not waste my time with that line of reasoning.

Perhaps? Not sure but most certainly not this thing.

One of those things is that earthquakes are not rational beings.

Well we both agree on that, are you saying only rational beings can be evil? If so why? and is Pat Robertson a rational being?

I am not going to get bogged down in arguing something so obvious. If you want to believe ridiculous things that is your right, but I will not waste my time with that line of reasoning.

This is very important and you are making a mistake fotobits.

Let me see if I can make this more clear.

I will not waste my time arguing if earthquakes are rational beings.

FREE WILL WARNING! FREE WILL WARNING!  grin I don’t think it’s about earthquakes being rational beings. I believe what Stephen is after is Robertson being free to be evil, or something like that.

Let me see if I can make this more clear.

I will not waste my time arguing if earthquakes are rational beings.

But you know nobody is asking you to.

You are being asked to explain why an earthquake cannot be evil, afterall only a fool would believe it could. That should be straight forward for you.

You are being asked to explain why the differences beween human beings and earthquakes can make some humans evil.

Why not have a go at the questions?

Evil requires a callous forethought only possible in the heart of man.

So what George??????????????????????????

fotobits views are probably based on a deep down belief akin to belief in God but much more obviously false and much more harmful.

What’s wrong with me trying to bring that out???????????????????????

edit: he does think some people can be evil scum.
