Center for Inquiry has some downloadable posters for you to print and plaster your campus with, to engage in the kind of "consciousness raising" Richard Dawkins suggested during his remote presentation at the student leaders conference.

They can be found here: http://www.campusfreethought.org/posters.htm

We want to design more, and there will be some connected with the new Campaign for Free Inquiry.

Can you think of any additional ideas? They should be short and catchy, thought provoking and not too sourpuss or angry. raspberry

No idea if these have been used already, but they might make nice posters or bumperstickers:

I was just thinking about this a few days ago, but I came up with only one idea:

REASON>FAITH
Or something to that effect.

The missionaries go forth to christianize the savages - as if the savages weren’t dangerous enough already.

Atheist Power!

There is no Santa Clause / There is no God

Which Doctor? No Witch Doctor! (I thought that one was funny!)

Do You Believe In Ghosts? No? Then Why Do You Believe In The Holy Ghost? (Okay, maybe I am straining a little bit, LOL)

I find the referrence to Native americans as savages quite insulting.

Well, it may not be short or catchy, but there is this glorious Flash tract that anyone is welcome to use.  It explains who Jesus is very clearly.  Glory!

Here’s one that worked well for our group

Plus it was extremely clever and got so much positive responses. Get them with humor!

“Yes, we have morals.
No we don’t eat kittens.”

We later cut it down to “No, we don’t eat kittens.” It makes a cool logo and slogan plus who can deny it or come at you with hostility? This was a simple way just to get people to smile and approach us.

We even made our school paper and our group is really taking off!

one of my fav quotes is from robert ingersoll in his speech/essay “What would you substitute for the bible as a moral guide?”. i found it on the Ingersoll podcast that you can get on itunes.

“what then is or can be called a moral guide? the shortest possible answer is one word ... intelligence.”

an idea for a flyer maybe shortened to something like:

“let your intelligence be your moral guide”

thoughts?

Fun with Flyers

Hey there! Yeah, our group at school has really taken off! We get about 20-25 students each week that includes a variety of religous and agnostic minds eager to join and listen to our discussions. I’m just happy that I am able to give an organization that allows everyone’s minds to interact and create dialog. It’s a fun opportunity for me and I will be sure to keep you guys and gals informed of our happenings on campus! ^_^
