G’day!

I’m a wombat.

I’m interested in eating carrots, sleeping, providing an obstacle to traffic and thinking that TAM Australia is pretty expensive.

I’m generally a religious apologist type atheist, although can stray to militant atheist at times, but I am particularly concerned about climate change. I am an occasional listener to the point of inquiry podcast, and am visiting here because the Oreskes interview (Merchants of Doubt) raised some particularly important points that the world would be a better place if they were widely known and understood.

You may be wondering how a wombat listens to podcasts.

The World famous lap wombat.  Boy looked like I could have spent the rest of the evening watching wombat videos on YouTube.  But, to be honest they look, er act, like they are related to sloths.

Now as for that other world renowned wombat, Fatso the combat wombat, welcome I have enjoyed your posts, I hope you keep checking in and adding your two bits worth.

Being lethargic, fat arsed and combative does go together a bit as a wombat.

I’ve fractured several bones against the walls of the burrow with my butt.

Fatso, how is your human pet doing? Will you be allowing him to contribute too? I love wombats. They are my second favorite wild animal, after hedgehogs!

It will probably be just me here. The human spends a lot of time with human stuff.

Hedgehogs are very cute.

Unfortunately Australia doesn’t have hedgehogs, so there has never been a friendship between a wombat and a hedgehog.

But when I’m older, I might travel. (At the moment the Australian government doesn’t issue passports (or voting rights) to wombats ... but that’s another battle.)

From one animal to another, aren’t humans confusing?  They really like to over complicate things.  You have a problem, you either throw poop at it or you don’t throw poop at it.  Or in your case crush it against the burrow walls or not.  Same concept really.  It’s that simple.

Oh and I thought Fatso the Combat Wombat was back.
