I was holding off on posting this myself, hoping others would help out by plugging this series I’m recording. The podcast is free, and should be of interest to some CFI folks.
I’ve created a special series of podcasts giving “dramatic” readings of the Baltimore Evening Sun reports that HL Mencken did of the Scopes trial. I’ve added music from the period and mixed it to give it somewhat of an old time radio sound.
I’m releasing them on the same days the reports came out 85 years ago, and there are 13 episodes in all:
June 29th – Homo Neanderthalensis
July 9th – Sickening Doubts About Publicity
July 10th – Impossibility of Obtaining Fair Jury
July 11th – Trial as Religious Orgy
July 13th – Souls Need Reconversion Nightly
July 14th – Darrow’s Eloquent Appeal
July 15th – Law and Freedom
July 16th – Fair Trial Beyond Ken
July 17th – Malone the Victor
July 18th – Genesis Triumphant
July 20th – Tennessee in the Frying Pan
July 27th – Bryan
Sept. 14th* - Aftermath
*Will be released by July 30th.
