Yeah the Mormon Tabernacle Choir does a very good job singing for Christmas, now-a-days.  smile  But those old stories of John Smith, the golden plates, and angel Moroni rolleyes, sad that when most people did not believe those stories that wanted to get rid of the people who did believed the stories.  Sad again that as John Smith moved on to this or that town, he had guns loaded and ready to fire.  The history is amazing and crazy, check it out Americans.

And soon Mitt Romney might be President.

Shut your mouth!

Don’t worry.  I think that Mitt has pretty much been type cast as the poster boy of America’s economically elite.  I don’t think that will play any better in the next Presidential election than it did in the last.

As a fabrication of our own consciousness, our assignations of meaning are no less “real”, but since humans and the fabrications of our consciousness are routinely fraught with error, it makes sense, to me, to, sometimes, question such fabrications.

I don’t think so.  Babies seem to automatically assign intelligence and purpose even to inanimate objects.  This makes it much easier to believe in supernatural beings like gods.  It takes an effort of understanding to see through the illusion.  But this is not the place to discuss it.  I suggest opening another topic somewhere.

Very interesting website. Those types of things are handy if you aren’t the type of person that wants to read the original and develop your own interpretations. I believe this is a truer way to do it, and I disagree with ‘translating’ scripture into an easier to read English. However, as you said, most believers will dispute it!

Are you saying you read the “originals”. Which ones? Where did you find them?
