Wow. No kidding. I just looked at the initial post date.
Write, why did you dig this up?
Sorry, just woke up. Write is my nick…..my actual name is Rip…......
Well….Theists seem to think that only men of old had all the answers. Was just checking if theist’s understanding of scripture has changed any. Alas…..... might as well continue an old thread….there is no difference between old and new.
Qur’an as a holy book poses spiritual knowledge as well as scientific knowledge. As a matter of belief Qur’an has science facts which have been proved thousand later and still Qur’an is considered a source of scientific facts and knowledge.Science have some relation with Qur’an and is embraced in the book.Science might have proved the facts given in the book now but at the time the book is written the facts are only facts and are considered as miracles. To the logic if the mankind the Qur’an is still a holy book and science has no relation with it but it proves science.Learning Qur’an can get access to the deep scientific facts given in the book that has been written thousands of year ago and poses the truth about the gods creation.
Abdul, Back in Muhammed’s day, the Arabs were advanced relative to the rest of the world. It is not surprising that he got some things right in the Quran. OTOH, there is an extraordinary amount of scientific knowledge that is missing. And I suspect that much that is claimed to be evidence of scientific knowledge in the Quran, is actually rather vague statements that can simply be interpreted by an eager believer to be evidence of consistency with what we now know to be true due to scientific investigation.
We have evolved to see patterns. We have evolved to be superstitious. We have also evolved to the point that we are sometimes capable of overcoming superstition. The reality is that the Quran is not a scientific text. There is no God beyond our various conceptions of God. IOW, religions, including the dogma in the Quran, promote our lying to ourselves regarding the nature of reality.
Regardless of the truths contained in all scriptures they are all fundamentally subjective and prejudicial in nature. It is the very exclusiveness of dogmatic religions that render any endorsement suspect.
Is Allah the same god as God? If so, why are all scriptures different? Human claim to exclusive knowledge of God (by any other name) warrants careful scrutiny of all the claims made in the book (Bible, Quran, OT, NT), and all scriptures are found wanting and unacceptable in Science.
