Damn, that’s a hugh increase in my “to read list”  thought I had the area fairly well covered but none of the books I have read is even on this list.  Here are some futher works in this field that I have read The Democratization of American Christianity - Nathan O Hatch;  God is Back - Micklethwait & Woodridge;  Reliion Gone Bad - Mel White; Piety & Politics Barry W Lynn; Fundamentalism and American Culture - Geoge Marsden.  And many others if your interested.
