Allison Coudert
Allison Coudert is a Professor of Religious Studies at University of California, Davis. Her research areas include History of Christianity, Religion and Science, and Jewish-Christian Relations. She is the editor of
Hebraica Veritas? Christian Hebraists, Jews, and the Study of Judaism in Early Modern Europe
(2004) and author of “Judaizing in the Seventeenth Century: Francis Mercury van Helmont and Johann Peter Späth (Moses Germanus)” in
Secret Conversions to Judaism in Early Modern Europe
(2004). She is currently working on a book, provisionally entitled:
Repairing the Ruins of Babel: Language and the Transition from the Pre-Modern to the Modern World
