Andrew Davies

Andrew Davies Andrew Davies (PhD Sheffield) studied and taught Old Testament at the University of Sheffield before coming to Mattersey Hall College as Vice Principal and Head of the Graduate School in 2000. His teaching specialism is the Hebrew language and literary approaches to the Bible, as well as in organisational development and strategic leadership. His publications include Double Standards in Isaiah (Brill, 2000) and contributions to The Reader’s Guide to Judaism (Fitzroy Dearborn, 2000), They Spoke from God: An Integrative Survey of the Old Testament (Logion, 2003) and Retellings: The Bible in Literature, Music, Art and Film (Brill, 2007). He is presently writing a book on the use of the Bible in music for Sheffield Phoenix Press.
