The Threat to Church/State Separation and the Supreme Court in this Presidential Election
Explaining how this year's presidential election could destroy the Supreme Court and usher in an actual American theocracy will be Eddie Tabash, the Chair of the Board of the Center for Inquiry Transnational. For the past 20 years, he has been warning Center for Inquiry audiences about the danger to the Court and to secularism in each presidential election year. This time, he means it more than ever!
Tabash also is Chair of the Legal Committee of Americans United for Separation of Church and State. He is considered one of the nation's leading experts on the religion clauses of the First Amendment, as those clauses were designed to protect the full equal rights of believers and nonbelievers alike. He also is a well-known atheist debater, having represented the natural point of view against the supernatural in debates against such prominent Christian philosophers as Richard Swinburne, William Lane Craig, Peter van Inwagen and Douglas Geivett.
This talk will be repeated at 4:30 p.m. at the Community Center at 1845 Park Ave. in Costa Mesa. Hosted by the CFI Community of Orange County.
