Center for Inquiry-L.A., 4773 Hollywood Blvd. Hollywood, CA 90027 (two blocks west of Vermont, across from Barnsdall Park)

The Toy Loan center is open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at CFI-L.A.

The Toy Loan is like a lending library for toys. Children visit a local Toy Loan center and borrow one toy for about a week or two. The program helps families save money by borrowing toys instead of buying them. It also builds good character in children by encouraging honesty, patience, courtesy, promptness, cleanliness, cooperation and responsibility. It does this by rewarding children with special points when they follow the rules. After several weeks of accumulating points, a child earns a brand new toy to keep.

Like other neighborhood centers, we will be open to anyone in the community who wants to borrow a toy. Families will have the opportunity to visit our location and borrow one of the available toys. What’s special about our location is a focus on toys that will encourage learning and critical thinking. Through member donations, we stock toys that promote scientific discovery, an understanding of the world we live in and other fun educational toys.
