More and more children are growing up in secular families—families that don't observe any religious practices or families where the beliefs of one parent are different from the other.
What does this mean for how we raise our kids?
CFI–Long Island and the Ethical Humanist Society of Long Island are pleased to present Raising Kids to Be Good Grown-Ups, a day-long secular parenting conference for parents and educators.
This conference provides a forum for parents raising children in secular homes to share ideas and experiences with one another. Speakers and workshops cover topics like strategies for teaching critical thinking skills, ethical questions, and discussions of how families cope with mixed (or no) faiths.
Child-care will be provided on the premises courtesy of Babysitting Barter, a babysitting cooperative based in Glen Cove, New York.
- CFI / EHS Members: $15
- Non-Member — Advance Registration: $20
- Non-Member — Day of Event: $25 (Doors open at 8:00 a.m.)
CFI–Long Island and the Ethical Humanist Society of Long Island believe in strong family values and the importance of teaching children compassion, respect, and social responsibility. This conference was created to help foster a society that that invests in the future for our children by encouraging open debate and critical thought.
