Book Discussion Group
The Book Discussion Group typically meets at the Jericho Library, One Merry Lane, Jericho, on the first Tuesday of the month. Two Books this month (read one or the other or both):
1) "Broken Government: How Republican Rule Destroyed the Legislative Conscience" by John Dean. The "Conservative Conscience" author presents a broad view of the dysfunctional chaos and institutional damage that Republican Party rule and its core conservatives have inflicted on the Federal Government.
2) "The Assault on Reason" by Al Gore. This book discusses the foundations of democracy and gives a lacerating critique of the Bush Administration (Ed.'s note: while promoting reason in a manner not unlike CFI.)
