Book Discussion Group
The Book Discussion Group typically meets at the Jericho Library, One Merry Lane, Jericho, on the first Tuesday of the month.
Book: "The Spirit of the Common Law" by Roscoe Pound , legal scholar and Dean of Harvard Law School, 1916 to 1936. Initially, Pound advocated a more pragmatic and public-interested interpretation of law, as opposed to legal formalism, but after the New Deal he became a critic of legal realism. According to Pound, precedent and supremacy of law are the foundation of common law. Bob Goldberg will lead the discussion.
