Bio

I was born (March 29, 1953) in Paris Ontario, to Lithuanian/Polish parents from Lithuania and Russia (I am first gen off the boat). Graduated from Sacred Hearth elementary, Paris District High School (72), Concorida University (76) B.Comm. (Loyola Campus, Montreal). Also attended Carleton University, University of Western Ontario and Mohawk College for various personal interest and career adjunct reasons.

My career after university started with Arthur Andersen & Co., (now defunct thanks to the Enron fiasco). Our alumni list, in Ontario at least, is kept with Deloitte Haskins Ca firm. I am a med school wannabe who found the dedication, focus and consistency requirements beyond that which my restless spirit could handle.

After years with companies like AA & Co. Trizec Equities, Pullman-Trailmobile, Kinney Corp, McDonald’s Restaurants, Lana Knit, I went independent.  I managed 6 figure incomes from 81-86 in the direct/multi-level marketing field, and was very active in public speaking in both a sales and motivation capacity. I had earnings from Forever Living Products, United Sciences of America, TriPak, 3dCameras.

I maintained my independence as a consultant after my network/contact base grew in both the U.S. and Canada. I had a number of U.S. based client companies that I assisted in establishing their compliant Canadian presence.

I spent 2 (93-94)years back at school to get a Hon.B.Sc in Computer Sci at University of Western Ontario in London. Didn’t finish as I became the custodial “single” dad of a 5 yo boy (Aaron) and 3 yo girl (Stephanie), with no local family or support systems in place. During that time I was active in coaching my kids in soccer for 3 years and a 1.5 year stint as COO with St.Thomas H.I.R.E. (the non-profit employer of some 100+ folk with mental health disabilities who were either institutionalised or semi-mainstream in a Community living setting).

I was diagnosed Bipolar II in the late 80’s and have been getting used to it all since. My shrink told me to give up all career, business and community action activities OR give up parenting if I wanted to live to see my kids’ graduate high school. In 96 I went on a full disability pension and am still on it.

I have lived in Atlanta, Houston, Louisville, Memphis, Nashville, Toronto and Mississauga during my business consulting days for periods ranging from 3 months to 1.5 years during the 80’s. My ex-wife was from Tennessee which is where my son was born. My kids are Can/Am dual citizens.

I was raised Roman Catholic but am a Pantheist/Panentheist in my spiritual expression. I live more in keeping with the secular humanists’ philosophy except that I’m not an atheist as many of that group are.
