Cleveland Chapter Monthly Meeting at Maple Heights Library
The big auditorium at the Maple Hts. Library will be the setting for the annual Book Look meeting on Wed., July 8, 7-8:45 p.m.
The meeting will begin with time to browse the books, magazines and newsletters fellow members have brought in to display. Please scour your home for books and other reading materials that you think other humanists might benefit from. Topics such as religion, science, politics, ethics and social issues are always popular.
CFINO will also be selling books (many at clearance discounts) with proceeds to benefit our group. Our group will also provide snacks and beverages. Our program that evening will be three presentations summarizing interesting books, with time for questions-and-answers.
Presenting their book summaries at this meeting will be:
* Dave Huntsman: "Misquoting Jesus" and "Jesus: Interrupted" by Bart Ehrman
* Matt Marshall: "Darwin: A Life In Poems" by Darwin's great-great-great granddaughter Ruth Padel
* Charles Pervo: "Who Owns You? The Corporate Gold Rush To Patent Your Genes" by David Koepsell
