Cleveland Chapter Monthly Meeting at Maple Heights Library
The next Cleveland Chapter meeting will be a "Box Of Questions" meeting on Wed., Aug. 13, 7-8:45 p.m., at the Maple Hts. Library (note change from usual meeting location). The Maple Hts. Library is located at 5225 Library Lane, Maple Hts. (off Libby Road between Broadway and Lee). The Box Of Questions meeting, conceived by the late Cal Wight, is a chance for CFINO members to discuss their views on three pre-selected topics.
The topics for this meeting are:
1. What is social justice and what is our individual and collective obligation toward achieving social justice? (The late philosopher John Rawls wrote an entire book on this subject. The book is called "A Theory of Justice").
2. Is the concentration of immense wealth in the hands of relatively few compatible with democracy and democratic principles?
3. Should a constitutional convention be convened to rewrite and/or revise the federal constitution? What revisions are needed? (There is a very interesting book on this topic, entitled "Toward A More Perfect Constitution" by Larry Sabato, published last year).
