CSICon 2016: Serving Up a Vegas Buffet of Skepticism
June 17, 2016
CSICon is coming to Las Vegas! The premier skeptics’ conference of 2016 takes place October 27-30 in the city with more illusions than a holodeck gone haywire.
And really making the event light up is the amazing lineup of speakers, including Richard Dawkins, Maria Konnikova, Eugenie Scott, Jill Tarter, Lawrence Krauss, Michael Mann, and even the Amazing James Randi.
Just to tempt you even further, two new outstanding names have been added to the roster, specially appearing for the Friday and Saturday lunches (separate registration required for each).
At Friday’s lunch, see Massimo Polidoro, the charismatic author, Skeptical Inquirer columnist, and investigator of the mysterious and strange, mentored by James Randi himself. Umberto Eco called him “a real bloodhound,” but don’t worry, he’s a charming one.
For Saturday’s lunch, meet Joe Schwarcz, a veteran expert communicator of science, host of “The Dr. Joe Show,” and director of McGill University’s Office for Science and Society. In 2015 he was awarded the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry’s Balles Prize for Critical Thinking for his book, Is That a Fact? Warning: It is entirely possible he will attempt magic tricks in his presentation.
So just like a Vegas-style buffet, you will absolutely get your fill of skeptical goodness at CSICon 2016. (These lunches aren’t Vegas buffets, that was just a metaphor.)
If you haven’t already, don’t wait another minute: Register now for CSICon 2016 and tick the boxes for the two lunches with Massimo and Dr. Joe!
