Thank You For Giving to Typhoon Relief Efforts
November 25, 2013
After Typhoon Haiyan devastated the Philippines, we asked you, the supporters of the Center for Inquiry, to lend a hand by donating what you could to our S.H.A.R.E. program (Skeptics and Humanists Aid and Relief Efforts), all of which would be dispatched to aid in the relief efforts of Oxfam.
And you did. As of the writing of this letter, over 350 of you have donated funds totaling over $35,000 in the span of just 14 days.
100% of that money will go directly to Oxfam’s efforts, currently focused on clean water and sanitation for the millions affected by the super-typhoon.
It’s fitting that here in the U.S., we will soon be celebrating Thanksgiving Day. We at CFI are thankful that you have once again proved that despite stereotypes, humanists, skeptics, and nonbelievers of all stripes rise to the occasion, ready and eager to help when their fellow human beings are in need.
Once again, from all of us at CFI, thank you.
