The Wait is Over: CFI Unveils New ‘Point of Inquiry’ Team!

October 17, 2013

Since 2005, Point of Inquiry, the flagship podcast of the Center for Inquiry, has been bringing you the
most fascinating and brilliant minds in science, religion, and politics for the kind of in-depth, engaging long-form interviews that simply can’t be found
anywhere else. Guests like Neil deGrasse Tyson, Steven Pinker, Ann Druyan, Paul Krugman, Susan Jacoby, Eugenie Scott, Chris Hayes, Temple Grandin, Richard Dawkins, and a plethora of other luminaries have enlightened and entertained, introducing thousands of listeners to new and challenging ideas.

Through the years, Point of Inquiry has evolved, growing in popularity and influence (Business Insider called it one of the ten best podcasts), with talented hosts and producers who have continued to build and enrich the program.

And now, everyone here at the CFI is delighted to unveil the new team who will take Point of Inquiry into its next exciting phase. Please join us in welcoming new co-hosts Lindsay Beyerstein and Josh Zepps, and producer Joshua Billingsley!

BeyersteinLindsay Beyerstein (co-host) is an award-winning investigative journalist and staff writer for In These Times. Her work has appeared in places such as The New Republic, Reuters, Slate, Salon, Ms. Magazine, and The New York Press. She is the lead writer at the Sidney Hillman Foundation, a non-profit honoring excellence in socially conscious journalism, and holds an M.A. in philosophy from Tufts University. Lindsay says she is happiest when she’s chasing a story, and we can’t wait to see what stories she tells with her guests on Point of Inquiry.

Zepps POIJosh Zepps (co-host) is a new media pioneer; a journalist serving as a founding host and producer at the online talk network HuffPost Live, following hosting stints with such outlets as Bloomberg TV, the Discovery Channel, and as an anchor for CBS’s Peabody Award-winning Channel One News. (He’s even worked in improv comedy with Amy Poehler!) Josh tells us he is “a science nerd, a politics wonk, and a passionate advocate of secularism and reason,” which, along with his substantial experience in online broadcasting, makes him an excellent addition to the team.

A lifelong student with degrees in political science and philosophy, Joshua Billingsley (producer) is a founding member of the Atheist Community of Buffalo and Western New York, as well as Creative Director, Co-Host and Producer of the REASON Podcast. He’s a self-described “autodidactic polymath,” clearly making him well suited to pilot our program.

You won’t have to wait very long to hear this new team in action. Josh, Lindsay, and Joshua will be on hand at the CFI Summit this October 24-27 in Tacoma, to kick off the new era of Point of Inquiry. Stay tuned to the show’s website, Twitter feed, and Facebook page for details as they are released!
