Reasonable New York, a consortium of local rationalist organizations including CFI | NYC, announces a launch party for Massimo Pigliucci's new book, "Nonsense on Stilts, How to Tell Science from Bunk." As part of the evening's activities, Dr. Pigliucci will give a short lecture, conduct a Q&A, and sign copies (purchasing a book is optional, but encouraged).

This special evening will be a chance to socialize at one of New York's nicest new wine bars while enjoying wine specials, complimentary appetizers, and an Italian ambiance. Admission is free, but spots are very limited. To RSVP, you must do so on our Meetup page.

About the author and the book. Massimo Pigliucci is currently Professor of Philosophy at the City University of New York. His research interests include the philosophy of biology, in particular the structure and foundations of evolutionary theory, the relationship between science and philosophy, and the relationship between science and religion. Nonsense on Stilts is "a refreshingly original excursion over the unmarked territory separating science from pseudoscience and nonscience... a thoughtful examination of the tumultuous terrain between the two and a primer on how one tells the difference."
