Dear CFI-Harlem members:

Some fascinating visitors are coming to talk to us. At the start of the meeting, we will have a cross cultural exchange. One of our devoted Hispanic members will be rejoining us this year. He was working in China. Now that he's back, he will be sharing the experience with us and some of his Chinese colleagues will be joining him. They will field your questions about life there in general. (I can't wait to ask about the effect of state sponsored atheism. How does Obama resonate with them?)

Also, we have a visitor from Paris of Indian descent that is studying Chinese.

A dynamic young man, Clarence Williams, will give us a book presentation and talk to us about his motivation and his experience in taking atheism to the streets in the Black community. Some of our members met Mr. Williams on the way to our meeting last month. He was on 125th St. selling his self-published book "Truth." In his introduction, he writes: "The primary purpose of the book is not simply to discredit and reveal the inaccuracies of religion, but to open the minds, ears and eyes of millions of poor, disadvantaged, disenfranchised people around the world." He goes on to say that "The truth hurts; it's unbearable and uncomfortable."

Learn more about Mr. Williams book at his website: http://www.sometimestruthhurts.com. The cartoon above was taken from his site. He will have copies of his $7 book for sale. Bring cash, please.

Brace yourself. The news story about the ten year old Yemeni girl (see attachment) is disturbing. It is truly an item for our "Tyranny of Believers" segment of our meeting discussion.

BTW, be sure to visit the website cfinyc.org about our Harlem group in particular and CFI (Center For Inquiry) in general. The flier and meeting notice are always there to inform others you know about us.
