Agribusiness and other big business has taken over the agriculture system in the interest of standardizing and streamlining it to maximize profits. But is this without any regard for the nutrition or health of the population as a whole? Are our evolutionary preferences in taste being exploited when they make highly processed foods compelling to our instincts? Are we victimized when we become addicted?

This month's discussion will be moderated by Rob Mathews. Rob has followed a hunter gatherer lifestyle for many years. He lives in Manhattan, but would like to live as close to nature as possible.

 The CFI-NYC Student Discussion Group provides students with the means to discuss taboo or under-examined topics with like-minded peers.
