CFI Stands on the Right Side of History

As the New York State Senate stands deadlocked on gay marriage, CFI refuses to sit on the sidelines.Three weeks ago, I joined Rebecca Watson in calling on the secular movement to get more involved with social and political movements. I'm proud to say the Center for Inquiry has taken a lead in doing so.
Earlier this week, two New York State Senators announced they were joining 29 of the 30 Senate Democrats in supporting the legalization of same-sex marriages. Pro-equality legislators were now one vote away from making New York the sixth state to legalize gay marriage. The Human Rights Campaign and other LGBT-advocacy groups began lobbying the undecided Republican Senators. It wasn't long before CFI entered the fray.
In an e-mail that went to subscribers state-wide, CFI sent the following message:
Since the message went out, CFI has continued to push the issue on its relevant Facebook pages. Kudos to CFI for getting involved. I hope to see other secular groups follow the trend.
