UNIFI Presented with CFI Online Outreach Award
July 5, 2011
This year's recipient of the Online Outreach award went to the University of Northern Iowa Freethinkers & Inquirers (UNIFI)!This post originally appeared on UNIFI's blog.
As you've no doubt heard, UNIFI sent three officers to the Center for Inquiry's annual Student Leadership Conference last weekend. What you may not have yet heard is that UNIFI received an Online Outreach Award for our social media work and for this blog! The UNIFI blog has been steadily gaining steam for the past two years, growing from several hundred hits per month in the spring of 2009 to an average of 15,000 hits per month this year.
The credit for this staggering and award-winning growth goes to Trevor Boeckmann, Joe Enabnit, Adam Shannon, and countless other contributors to the UNIFI blog. I know that I personally couldn't be more honored to work with Joe and Adam under Trevor's vision for the site. As our Blog Chair last year, Joe deserves more credit than I can type in a single post; in a word, he was tenacious, and he always buckled down when it counted. Adam Shannon, our current Webmaster, has been nothing short of a workhorse for us: bringing in web hits from reddit,
generating blog content and organizing a posting schedule when he isn't busy writing our new website from scratch. I can't overstate the role these two have played in our ongoing web success. Thank you both for a spectacular year on the blogosphere, and I look forward to another with the launch of the new site.
