[Los Angeles] Celebrating Darwin Day: “Meeting of Minds”

Meeting of Minds
Steve Allen's critically acclaimed
Meeting of Minds PBS television series will get an episode-revival on
February 12th, when Robert Forster (Jackie Brown),
Dan Lauria (The Wonder Years), Wendie
Malick (Just Shoot Me) Charles Shaughnessy
(The Nanny), and Gary Cole (West Wing) bring
to life some of Allen's historical characters under the direction of
Frank Megna.
The staged reading, made possible through
the permission of Steve Allen's family, will feature the second episode
involving the historical figures of Darwin, Galileo, poet Emily Dickinson, and
Attila the Hun interacting and discussing with Steve Allen ideas that illuminate
history as well as the modern state of affairs. Many of the same actors
performed last year at the Center in the first of the two episodes with these
same historical figures.
Following the play, the audience and cast
will join CFI in toasting Charles Darwin with champagne and birthday
cake.
Thursday, February 12 at 8pm
$15, or $10 for Friends of the
Center.
