The Bahen Centre for Information Technology - Hall 1160, 40 St. Georges Street, Toronto, ON
Hosted by CFI–Ontario
Join CFI–Ontario April 26th for a presentation by Chris Mooney, author of the best-selling book The Republican Brain: The Science of Why They Don't Believe in Science.

Mooney's lecture draws from his recent writing on the "science of why we don't believe science," focusing on research that conflicts with our political and personal views. Mooney reviews evidence suggesting liberals and conservatives are, in aggregate, fundamentally different people -- differing in personalities, psychological needs, even brain structures. He considers the effects these differences have on processing information, especially information about science that has political implications, and explains why understanding cognitive differences between liberals and conservatives is essential to building a civil society with policies grounded in reality and reason.
