Note: This is a global event that appears on all event calendars.

Starts
Tuesday, February 3rd at 6:30 pm
Ends
Tuesday, February 3rd at 8:30 pm
Location
Marvin Center Amphitheater (3rd floor), 800 21st Street, NW, Washington, DC

Dan Barker, co-president of the Freedom From Religion Foundation, was a lifelong Christian, an Evangelical preacher, and faith healer before a deconversion that has led him to become one of the world's best known atheists. This will be his 2nd stop on a week-long tour of DC & VA. For information about his other stops, go here: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=43855431823
You can find out more about Dan Barker here: http://www.ffrf.org/about/bio_dan.php

In this lecture, he will recount his loss of faith, discuss arguments regarding Christianity and the Bible, and how to find common ground in talking with fundamentalists about religion. After his lecture, Barker will open up the floor for questions.

Though SKEPTIC is primarily an atheist/agnostic group, we are very open to theists interested in seriously challenging and supporting their beliefs. Our goal for all members is to INTELLIGENTLY choose, regardless of what that choice is. This includes rigorous examination of current beliefs as well as being open to new information and reevaluation.

Our theist members and non-members, particularly Christians, are encouraged to attend the lecture and ask questions.

This event is free and open to the public. Seats are limited to 100 -- first come, first serve. Take the elevator to the 3rd floor and make a right. The amphitheater is on the left.

If you are taking the Metro, take the orange/blue line to Foggy Bottom/GWU and walk down 2 blocks on I Street (directly across from the Metro station). Marvin Center will be on your right.

Street parking is extremely limited. If you will be driving, park at the paid garage whose entrance is on 21st & H Streets. The cost is $7 up to 1 hour, $13 for up to 2 hours, and $16 maximum.

This event was made possible with support from the Secular Student Alliance and the Freedom from Religion Foundation. Thanks also to Shelley Mountjoy for all of her work in helping to organize this tour!
