Music Monday: Aesop Rock - “Big Bang”

November 7, 2011

I am going to get straigh to the point today. 1. It’s Carl Sagan’s birthday this week. 2. Aesop Rock did an AMA last night on reddit. 3. He also wrote a song called “Big Bang” wherein he states, “I don’t really believe in God.” 4. I am having a hard time connecting these facts.

Either way, as stated above, Aesop Rock did an AMA last night where he was ask the question, “Are you an atheist? Or better yet whats your thoughts on life? What do you think happens when you die? I see a lot of things pertaining to that subject in your music.”

His response: God shmod.

So have a happy Carl Sagan Day and enjoy “Big Bang” by Aesop Rock (these two things are likely unrelated). I did have another song called “Big Bang” lined up, but you will just have to wait until next week : )

(A side note: I’m not entirely sure what this song is about, but I like it, so… yeah)

As always, if you have suggestions for future Music Mondays, feel free to email me at or leave a comment below. Your suggestions, along with future and past songs, may end up in the official Course of Reason Music Monday Grooveshark playlist that anyone can listen to.
