I was raised on Voyager so that’s my fav, but I understand a lot of story lines were stolen from TNG. I find the story lines very engaging and thought-provoking, though. I enjoyed the novel plot structures you could get from all the new technologies, especially things like the holodeck, holograms (the doctor), AI (Data, others), and space-time anomalies. I especially enjoyed the episodes about time travel or time dilation.
That’s interesting domokato. I grew bored with Voyager because I found the plots too predictable. Maybe it was because I had seen them all in TNG. But as Occam mentioned, Seven of Nine made Voyager worthwhile.
Trivia question: How did Seven of Nine indirectly helped get Barack Obama elected?
Sorry guys (not Doug), but you don’t know what you’re talking about. I loved both TOS and TNG ( not the others so much, except for Seven of Nine) because they often showed our present social stupidities in a subtle way that could get past people’s conscious prejudices, similar to Jonathan Swift. I agree that it was too complex for most to appreciate.
I also enjoyed the way they extrapolated technology that, while not presently available, wasn’t often obviously impossible.
Subtle? Hah! Were you watching the same shows I was, Occam?
Sure I was. I guess that just means I’m brighter than you, D-M, right?
