Skeptics Forum

Starts
Saturday, December 15th at 1:00 pm
Ends
Saturday, January 31st at 2:00 pm
Location
Centre for Inquiry Ontario, 216 Beverley St, Toronto ON (1 minute south of College St at St. George St)

CFI Ontario will host a critical-thinking science based discussion on all things skeptical, such as big foot, UFOs, the paranormal, alternative medicine, climate change denial, etc.  We will occasionally listen to the Skepticality,  Skeptics Guide to the Universe and Point of Inquiry podcasts.

The format will be similar to that of the Sunday humanist discussion forum, including interactive round-table style discussions.

The skeptics forum will take place the third Satuday of each month.  Also stick around for our BBQs and skeptical film screenings.

This is an informal event for discussion and socializing among local skeptics. The discussion is in the style of a forum on a topic of skeptical interest, letting everyone have their say. A different skeptic will introduce the topic and lead discussion each month. This is your chance to bring up questions you think important, to make suggestions for action on the issues, to argue some of the controversial points - or just take in the examination of skeptical issues among your fellow critically thinking colleagues.

Afterwards, CFI is holding other skeptical events, a film presentation and barbecue, you may be interested in staying for.

Here are the details about the first session:

"Why are psychics so popular in Toronto? What should we do about it?"
